The answer in 30 seconds
-
Low Health, never a knockout In battle, the lower its Health, the better your odds.
In gameTip: Triggering a Critical Capture automatically maxes out your Buddy Pod's capture rate.
-
From behind, unseen, from afar A pod that hits a Jini from behind puts it in a back-facing state, and your odds jump.
In gameCapture rate is higher if the Jini hasn't spotted you, or if you toss from a distance!
-
The pod that matches its class 9 Condition Pods cover the 18 classes, two classes each.
In gameUsing specific Buddy Pods on Jinies of the matching class significantly boosts your capture rate.
-
Your Obedience Level Above it, the rate drops; far above it, only a battle works.
In gameYou can try to capture a Jini that outlevels your Obedience Level, but be warned: your capture rate will plummet.
-
8 pods never miss The King's Pod and the season pods capture every time.
In gameLegends say no Jini can ever resist a King's Pod's Pact.
Capture Wild Jinies
In battle
The classic way: walk up to a wild Jini, fight, then throw.
-
Wear it down Lower its Health as far as you can, without knocking it out.
-
Critical Capture Low Health or a Sneak Attack from behind triggers it, and it maxes out your pod.
In gameWhittle down a Jini's Health in battle, or perform a Sneak Attack from behind to trigger a Critical Capture!
-
Stun it on the way in Starry Magic leaves a wild Jini dazed when the battle starts. Charge longer, it stays dazed longer.
-
Every pod works here The Basic Pod is a battle pod: it cannot be thrown in the overworld.
-
Above your Obedience Level The rate plummets, and the Jini may still run away in battle.
Out-of-Battle Capture
Out of battle
Throw straight at a wild Jini and skip the fight.
-
19 pods fly Every pod but the Basic Pod and the Soft Pod can be thrown at a Jini in the overworld.
In gameSpot a wild Jini? Throw an Advanced Pod right at it to capture it without starting a battle. Pretty handy, right?
-
From behind Hit it from behind: the back-facing state massively boosts your rate.
In gameThis triggers a back-facing state and massively boosts your capture rate.
-
Unseen, from afar Better if it has not spotted you, and if you throw from afar.
-
Too far above you Far above your Obedience Level, a Jini can only be captured in battle.
In gameIf a Jini exceeds the obedience level by more than 10 levels, it can only be captured in battle
-
An Alpha nearby An Alpha close by cuts your capture rate hard.
In gameCapture rate significantly reduced due to a nearby Alpha.
